St. Augustine Fl
I guess this shall be my first real blog post! (little cheers!)
I'd first like to start off with what I want for this little space of mine.
We all love something that's ours and just ours something that we can do whatever we like with, say whatever we'd like with, I not only want this to be an aesthetically pleasing space for my eyes and mind but a place to keep my memories and what my life may be throughout the years, how things change and just a place to write.
And if people come a long and are interested in what is happening in my little life and enjoy my little space then yippie!
So let's see what this turns into!
So! St. Augustine Fl
A place I have heard many wonderful things about but despite living in this sunshine state for 17 years had never been myself thus the reason me and my husband chose such a place for our first year anniversary.
We booked our adorable Airbnb with zero plans and no expectations for what may lay ahead! We packed a picnic basket and lunch and the rest was just us wondering around like tourists.
We did what we wanted when we wanted which was a big treat for us for sure!
Our lovely Airbnb (this was my first experience with Airbnb "and I have many more booked for the year" and it was a lovely one for sure can't wait for my others!)
We chose the bean cottage on Anastasia island because it was close to the water and very centrally located to pretty much everything we had looked into seeing and they provided bicycles which was one of the few things we did have planned to do, biking.
The Bean cottage was a lovely old home and the second oldest building in the town which was so very cool to someone like me. It had so much charm to it.
We had a beautiful little look out to the water and the neighborhood was incredible!
Not to mention all the precious little cats!
A lovely home we passed each day of our stay
We found the light house which we had no idea was literally a 10 minute walk up the street!
Which was of course super cool and beautiful! Had so much fun exploring inside and just all around the light house.
Day twos activities invloved a bicycle ride to Anastasia park, horrible sun burn and much chaffing form the bicycle seats....
We had a wonderful time but had a few regrets afterwards.
The beach was a beautiful 2 mile or so bike up the street with beautiful views the whole time and many gopher tortoises.
The waves in the Atlantic were huge much to huge for my taste so I stayed on land like a beached whale as my husband cooled down in the salty ocean which he claims was a ball.
We rode our bikes back to the light house park across from the lighthouse (who would have thought) found a beautiful tree and set up our picnic and relaxed.
We all found many wondering cats like this precious little blesing. The neighborhood was so charming and lovely to explore.
While riding around the more then gorgeous neighbor hood there was a plant nursery we had passed coming in and I had to check it out and wow was it the best nursery I'd ever seen? Yes... Yes it 100% was!
They had one gigantic green house and it was as if the plants had just escaped from inside it was a mini forest inside and out of the beautiful store. The plants just kept going! Another step and other turn! Absolutely amazing! And of course to make it even better they had a garden cat!!
And of course it had an epic view of the light house .
I also have discovered I want a fig tree!! I mean look at those Lil things! How stinking cute!
The most amazing garden cat!! So friendly
That evening we went to what locals call (The Point) full of old Spanish architecture cathedrals and a gorgeous university as well as an old Spanish fort making St Augustine the oldest city in America.
We were disappointed to find out when we arrived the fort was closed so we could only look around outside which was super cool and to see the history of how long that fort had been there.
We had a quick stop in at Bok tower gardens on our way home which was exciting because we haven't been back since our wedding! If you'd like to see more about Bok tower I can make a whole post just about it and our experience having our wedding there as well.
