Iceland 2017 Pt.2

Here is Pt.2 of our Iceland adventures!

We set out on a day of driving and adventure! But we couldn't pass up these beauties without saying good morning (the amount of horses in Iceland is insane and they are all usually super friendly)

The first place we wanted to visit was the little town Vik. Now we had originally wanted to stay here for a bit but there is a volcano overdue by many years to erupt and when it does it will destroy the whole town so we decided we'd go see it instead of stay there!

We wanted to see the gorgeous black sand beach which was so incredible because it was half black sand and then half these amazing smooth/lava rocks.

The town of Vik

Iceland and their never ending wild flowers!

On our way out of Vik we found a gorgeous view we couldn't pass up. We climbed up this hill with a look down into a small valley and creek and the other side was this giant mountain (the picture makes it look so tiny)

Our last big stop of the day was an old navy plane crash which is a totally must see if you are in the area in Iceland if you can find it. The thing about Iceland is there isn't very often direct directions to anything especially sights so we did struggle a bit to find this beauty but were we happy when we did! Till we found out we had to walk some severeal miles there and back in the rain and cold...not the best walk I've had that's for sure but it was so worth it!

After a long, cold, slightly damp drive we made it to our Reykjavik house! Which was by far my favorite Airbnb we stayed at for sure! It was so charming and lovely. Oh and that's our red ugly rental van Sheryl we did not intend to rent her, we booked a very nice van almost 6 months in advance and when we arrived at the car rental office they said "it is all we have" she gifted us with a lovely blown tire due to dry rot and then stalled in the middle of a round about and had to be pushed to a gas station... she was exciting yes and added to our adventures but she was most certainly difficult!

I think I'll leave it here till Pt.3 which will probably be the last of this Iceland adventure!
I hope you guys enjoyed!
